Focused On The Summer

Christmas is over.  Yippeee!  Not to be a Scrooge, but I'm glad.  Not because I don't like Christmas, but because I am absolutely passionate about our Vacation Bible School curriculum and now we can devote 100% of our time and attention to it.

One week from today we will introduce our "Backstage With The Bible" Vacation Bible School curriculum to thousands of children's pastors at a conference in Nashville, TN.  We've purchase a 5 minute "commercial" at the first general session and we're praying that we will be able to clearly convey our passion to put the BIBLE back into Vacation Bible School to everyone there.

Did you know that many curriculums don't even have kids open up a Bible during Vacation Bible School?  Then we wonder why our young people don't have a Biblical worldview!  We can change this, but we've got to get passionate about exposing kids to the truths found only in God's Word. 

Please keep us in your prayers as this is a whole new adventure for us.  There are lots of big publishers out there who won't be too thrilled with what we're doing, but it's absolutely necessary and we're convinced that we're in a unique position to finally give children's pastors the curriculum they've been asking for.  We may sell 10 of these or we may sell 10,000...I have no idea.  Either way, I'm quite sure that sharing the gospel and teaching the importance of the Bible will never be a wasted venture!

Snow

After two great shows in Des Moines and Davenport, IA we are on our way home.  The snowstorms are making life miserable though.  Our bus driver ended up pulling over at a truck stop last night because the roads were just too bad.  We're slowly but surely making our way through the newly plowed roads this morning and should get back home some time today!

It's been a great tour and other than having to end it a bit early thanks to the weather, I'm definitely happy with how everything went.  We introduced our music to lots of new people, our audiences seemed to have a lot of fun, and most importantly - the gospel was presented at each show.  We've done a TON of radio interviews and it has been exciting to see how many stations are playing our Christmas music this year...more than ever!!!

God continues to open up doors for us and you all continue to blow us away with your support.  Thank you to everyone who came out to see us this December and to those who were praying for us.  We appreciate it!  Now it's time to go home and celebrate Christmas with our own families and for that we are grateful.  It's much more fun to watch the snow falling from your house than from a tour bus!!!

Holland, MI and Palos Heights, IL Postponed

We are sorry to announce that the Holland, MI and Palos Heights, IL Christmas concerts are going to be rescheduled as kids concerts due to weather. After much deliberation, it was decided that the risk of traveling into this severe weather with a semi-truck and tour bus wasn't going to be feasible.  The promoter for these concerts has already received many questions about unsafe conditions and that along with everybody's safety is what prompted this decision.

It's a bummer to have to end the Christmas Tour early and we're sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.  However, rest assured, we will be back with a great show and promise to make it up to you!

I'm Sorry Iowa

Why?  Because I grew up in South Dakota and in South Dakota we all told Iowa jokes.  You know like...

A: A blue license plate (All of their license plates used to be blue)

These jokes were unfair and as I stood in front of an amazing audience last night in Cedar Rapids I genuinely felt remorse for all the Iowa jokes of my youth.

Through the years, Iowa has easily been our most loyal, supportive audience and last night was another great example of that.  Thank you to everyone who made last night a very memorable one for us!  I'd also like to thank LIFE 101.9 for being such a great support to us as well.

By the way, I was born in the small town of Rock Valley, IA so truth be told...I'm one of you.  Can I still get one of those blue license plates?

My boys came to the shows this weekend. They were happy to see me, but REALLY happy to play my drums!

A Bit Overwhelming

Here's a confession...I thought maybe we made a mistake by doing a Christmas Tour this year.  I was stressing about ticket sales, being away from my family, competing with all the other Christmas shows out there, etc.  My only saving grace was that I knew we'd be sharing the gospel every night and that the tour would help us get the word out about our Vacation Bible School curriculum.

I'm such a dope!  I just went through my emails this morning and was extremely humbled by all the encouragement that came my way.  A mom of two autistic boys who were greatly impacted by the show, a family who got into a great conversation with their kids about the gospel as a result of the concert, and many stories of friends and neighbors who were invited to the show and were very open to the gospel presentation. 

I was reminded that this is about so much more than our little group, selling cds, and making a living.  A mom came up to us the other night and said that her son asked her "Are the Go Fish Guys missionaries?".  She said, "Yes.  Definitely".  When she shared that with me I considered that to be one of the best compliments we've ever been given.

Tonight's show is nice and full.  Last night at the Target Center was a blast!  Many of my emails I just mentioned came from people at the Cambridge, MN shows.  God has provided for our needs and it shouldn't surprise us...He always does.  We are 3 extremely flawed sinners whom God has given an amazing opportunity to share His word through music.  Thank you to everyone for encouraging us to keep focus and keep going.

Worthington, MN

There is nothing better than a packed out gym in a small town!  That's what happened last night when 1200 folks from Worthington, MN came to our Christmas show.

I can honestly say it was probably my favorite show on the tour so far.  People were so genuinely good to us and you could tell that they were thoroughly enjoying the concert.

A big thank you to everyone who made last night a great experience for us and our crew!  Oh, and the Pizza Ranch pizza at the end of the night couldn't have been better...Merry Christmas to us!

Well, time to make my way off the bus and get ready for 2 shows today in Cambridge, MN.  We have a big day ahead and we're looking forward to it!

Faribault

Sioux Falls

FYI: Yesterday Sioux Falls was listed as SOLD OUT at the box office.  However, the ticket office made a mistake and printed 200 less tickets than they were supposed to.  SO, those additional seats went on sale yesterday.

So if you live in Sioux Falls and want to come to the show but don't have tickets...get them right away this morning or they will be gone!!!
